MANILA, Philippines — The low-pressure area that affected parts of Luzon has intensified into a tropical depression while it moves farther away from the Philippine area of responsibility on Tuesday afternoon.

The state weather bureau issued this forecast as it said that the tropical depression was last spotted 505 kilometers west northwest of Puerto Princesa City.

Nevertheless, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said scattered rain showers would continue over Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, and Bicol Region.

Pagasa also said cloudy weather could likewise be expected over Mimaropa on Wednesday while the rest of Luzon would likely experience fair weather with localized thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening.
