CAVITE, Philippines — The Department of Transportation (DOTr) on Tuesday conducted an operational dry run at Sangley Airport here to check its readiness to accommodate flights.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade and Cavite Governor Jonvic Remulla led the inspection of the facility, particularly the pre-departure area and the passenger terminal building.

DOTr officials also inspected the temporary ferry terminal.
Sangley Airport can be accessed via fa 20-minute ferry ride from the CCP complex in Manila.
As part of the dry run, a cargo freighter of Cebu Pacific landed at the airport’s runway.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier said he wants the airport operational by November.

The DOTr has committed to meet the deadline.
Last week, Tugade said the airport is already 95 percent complete. /gsg
