MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) off Surigao del Sur will likely bring rainfall and thunderstorms in large parts of the country on Monday but is not expected to turn into a typhoon, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
The LPA was spotted 85 kilometers east southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur, and will cause rain and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao, Bicol region and in Quezon, Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan. —Jhesset O. Enano
