CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — The Central Luzon police are deploying 6,000 law enforcers in cemeteries and transport terminals from Oct. 30 to Nov. 2 as it aimed for a “zero-crime holiday weekend” on All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day in the region.

The Philippine National Police would be on full alert on those days, and would conduct “focused operations … in all places of convergence including churches,” said Police Brig. Gen Leonardo Cesneros, regional police director, in a statement.

Village leaders and watchmen have been asked to augment surveillance in their communities during the long weekend, while police assistance desks shall be put in accessible places, Cesneros said. Tonette Orejas /lzb
