8 illegal gamblers fall in Quezon

LUCENA CITY –– Authorities arrested eight persons for illegal gambling in two separate police operations in Lucena City and Dolores town in Quezon province early Saturday.

Lucena police anti-illegal gambling operatives arrested Randy Reforma, Aldrin Villiarojo, Ronnie Valenzuela, Gary Quisadio and John Louis Bathan while playing the illegal coin game cara y cruz on Juarez corner C. M. Recto streets in Barangay 6 at 12:10 a.m.

The suspects, all tricycle drivers, yielded betting money in different denominations.

In Dolores town, policemen collared Vesper Montierro, Humpry Plata, and Oliver Iranzo while engaged in “sakla,” a card betting game being held in Barangay Dagatan around 12:30 a.m.

Authorities seized one deck of playing cards, bet money amounting to P3,460 in different denominations, and gambling paraphernalia.
