TACLOBAN CITY –– The new police director of the Eastern Visayas police vowed to clean its ranks of scalawags.
Police Brigadier General Ferdinand Divina said he is serious in cleaning the police force and that he wanted to instill discipline among his men.
“My priority is human resource and as such, there should be discipline, discipline, and discipline until it becomes a way of life. If you have discipline, you will observe self-restraint,” he said in an interview.
The police organization in the country has been lately affected by allegations of corruption like colluding with alleged big-time drug lords in exchange for money.
Records of the regional police office show that 353 policemen are facing charges before the Investigation and Detective Management Division, and 141 others have pending cases before the Regional Internal Affairs Service in Eastern Visayas.
