Pagasa: Cloudy skies with isolated light rain over Batanes, other Luzon provinces

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with isolated light rain will prevail over Batanes and other Luzon provinces, the state weather bureau said Thursday.

In its 5 p.m. live weather update, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said that Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Apayao and Cagayan will have cloudy skies due to the northeasterly surface wind flow.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Pagasa said that the latest weather disturbance it is currently monitoring, Typhoon “Bualoi,” was last spotted at 2, 280 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

Bualoi packed maximum sustained winds of 155 kilometers per hour (kph), and gustiness of up to 190 kph.

The typhoon was spotted moving north at 30 kph.

The state weather bureau said that Bualoi is expected not to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
