CITY OF MEYCAUAYAN –– The North Luzon Expressway (NLEx) Corp. will start its motorist assistance scheme called “Safe Trip Mo Sagot Ko” on Friday in anticipation of a heavy influx of motorists bound to the north of Metro Manila for the “Undas” or All Saints’ and All Souls’ Day vacation.
NLEX Corp. President Luigi Bautista said more patrol crew and incident response teams would be fielded until Nov. 4.
Similar to Christmas and Holy Week vacations, NLEx braces for an additional 10-percent increase from its daily volume of 250,000 vehicle users during this long break.
Romulo Quimbo, NLEX Corp. senior vice president for communication and stakeholder management, said the company remained committed and focused on the safety and convenience of motorists.
Quimbo said they would undertake contingency measures to address long queues at the toll areas, such as adding electronic toll lanes. Carmela Reyes-Estrope/lzb
