Woman, son drug pushers from Quezon fall in Manila

LUCENA CITY –– Anti-illegal drugs operatives from Infanta town in Quezon province arrested a woman and her son in an operation in Sampaloc, Manila on Wednesday, police said.

The suspects were identified as Gloria Orozco, 54, and his son Jun Arwell, both residents of Barangay Poblacion Bantilan in Infanta, Colonel Audie Madrideo, Quezon police chief, said in a report.

A report said policemen armed with arrest warrants collared the wanted suspects in their hiding place at the corner of Leo and G. Tuazon street in Sampaloc around 7:30 a.m.

The police said the suspects were in the national drug watch list and tagged as “high-value target-Level 1.”

Staff Master Sgt. Lochinvar Dennis Peñamante, Infanta police investigator, said the suspects evaded arrests from a police operation in Infanta in 2017.

He said the police located the suspect’s whereabouts after one of their relatives was recently arrested on drug pushing.

“There were text messages from the suspect’s mobile phone that indicates the address of the mother and son,’ police said.

Peñamante tagged the family of the suspects as notorious drug traffickers in Infanta.

“Some of their family members were already arrested while others were killed in police operations,” he said.

The suspects were detained at the Infanta police jail./lzb
