MANILA, Philippines — Brig. Gen. Vicente Danao Jr., former chief of the Manila Police District, is now the regional director of the Calabarzon Police Regional Office.
Danao formally took the helm in a turnover ceremony held in Camp Vicente Lim in Calamba, Laguna on Wednesday, replacing Brig. Gen. Edward Carranza.
The ceremony was led by Philippine National Police officer-in-charge Lt. Gen. Archie Gamboa.
In a statement, Danao said that he would implement Oplan Litis, which aims to discipline scalawag officers.
Danao was also the chief of the Davao City Police Station during the time of then-Mayor Rodrigo Duterte until 2016. He took over the MPDA top post in November 2018.
