Fire hits mall in Tacloban City

MANILA, Philippines — A fire broke out inside a mall in Tacloban City on Wednesday afternoon, the city fire station reported.

Fire Officer 2 Bianca Caones said that firefighters are still putting out a fire that hit Robinsons Place Tacloban City where second alarm was raised.

Caones said the fire was reported at 5:46 p.m. prompting the Tacloban City Fire Station to deploy four firetrucks, two ambulances, one rescue truck, and one pumper.

Firetrucks from five other fire stations were also deployed.

The fire is still ongoing as of posting time.

Caones said an investigation will be launched once the fire is put out to identify its cause. /je
