MANILA, Philippines — Zaldy Ampatuan, one of the principal accused in the 2009 Maguindanao massacre was rushed to hospital, the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) said Wednesday.
BJMP spokesperson Xavier Solda told INQUIRER.net in a text message that the former ARMM governor was rushed to hospital on Monday afternoon.
“I can confirm that Zaldy Amptuan was rushed to the hospital due to Cardio Vascular Disease Infarct Secondary to Cardiac Dysrythmia,” Solda said.
“As per last medical bulletin, he is in a stable condition now,” he added.
Solda, however, did not disclose where Ampatuan is hospitalized for “security reasons.” /gsg
