MANILA, Philippines — After a lull of three weeks, the Senate blue ribbon, and justice committees have resumed their investigation into the alleged irregularities in the military with the wife of a former military comptroller again expected to take a witness stand.

Jacinto Ligot’s wife Erlinda, who allegedly owned at least two houses in California, was among the invited resource persons at Monday’s resumption of the proceeding.

Mrs. Ligot appeared in the March 3 hearing in the Senate but was unable to testify after her blood pressure shot up to 180 over 120, prompting the committees to excuse her from the proceeding.

Her brother, Edgardo Yambao, and General Ligot were also invited along with Lieutenant Colonel George Rabusa, who exposed the alleged anomalies in the military; Defense Secretary Voltaire Gazmin, newly-appointed Armed Forces chief of Staff Eduardo Oban, among others.
