Did You Know: 2,856 cholera cases noted Jan. 1 to May 25

According to the Epidemiology Bureau of the Department of Health, a total of 2,856 cases of cholera were reported nationwide from Jan. 1 to May 25.

This was 211 percent higher compared to the 918 cases reported during the same period last year.

Three deaths were reported nationwide due to cholera in the first five months of 2019. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
