Cache of firearms, bullets seized from 75-year-old man in Masbate

LEGAZPI CITY — A cache of firearms and ammunition was confiscated by police from a 75-year-old man in his home in San Fernando town in Masbate province, a police report said Sunday.

Police armed with a search warrant arrested Dencio Ramiso after they found various types of guns and bullets in his residence in Barangay (village) Talisay, according to Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson.


Calubaquib, in a phone interview on Sunday, said police operatives swooped down the suspect’s residence Friday night.

The search yielded two rifle grenade launchers, an M203 grenade launcher, a .38 caliber handgun, a .22 caliber pistol and assorted ammunition.


The suspect is facing charges for illegal possession of high powered firearms. /je
