MANILA, Philippines — The Municipality of Narra in Palawan is again an awardee of the prestigious Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG) for this year. This is the fourth time that Narra has bagged the award, and its second time being the sole awardee in Palawan.
The year in review is 2018, which results clearly manifested the hard work and dedication given by the previous administration (Term Year 2016-2019) of the Narra municipal government; led by then Mayor Lucena D. Demaala, Municipal Vice Mayor Crispin O. Lumba, Jr., Sangguniang Bayan Members (Term Year 2016-2019): Clarito D. Demaala, IV., Ryan D. Maminta, Cenon P. Garcia, Bayani M. Agapito, Arnold V. Verano, Janet G. Nabua, Joel B. Bito-onon, Ceferino M. Genovea, Ferdinand P. Zaballa, Joel L. Limsa and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Federation President Keren M. Socrates (from 2018), department heads, unit heads, and all employees of the Narra municipal government.
The Seal of Good Local Governance is an award annually given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) through the conduct of progressive assessment system to measure the remarkable performance of Local Government Units all over the Philippines.
Governance areas that are evaluated includes Financial Administration, Disaster Preparedness, Social Protection, Peace and Order, Business Friendliness and Competitiveness, Environmental Management, and Tourism, Culture and the Arts.
The SGLG award is a result of the strong commitment of Narra to provide the best public service possible. An award which brings pride not only to the people of Narra but to the whole province of Palawan.
