Pagasa: ‘Perla’ heading west, may exit PAR on Monday 

MANILA, Philippines — Tropical Storm “Perla” was spotted moving west northwest, and may possibly exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday, the state weather bureau said Saturday.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Phivolcs) said Perla was last monitored at 690 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

Perla is packing maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center, and gustiness of up to 105 kph.

The weather disturbance was also spotted moving at 15 kph.

Pagasa said Perla will not have any direct effect in the country.

Meanwhile, Batanes, Ilocos Norte, Apayao and Cagayan will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the northeasterly surface wind flow.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain due to localized thunderstorms. /muf
