MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte lashed out at the so-called “ninja cops” or police officers who involve themselves in the recycling of seized illegal drugs, saying he can be “more evil” than them.
“May mga Pilipino, itong sa droga, holdup, itong mga pulis na ito, p***** i** mamatay yan tignan mo. Wag mo ko bigyan ng mga ninja cops na yan. Mga gangster kayo [There are Filipinos, in drugs, holdup, these policemen, son of a b**ch they are dead, let’s see. Don’t give me these ninja cops. You are gangsters],” Duterte said Thursday during his speech at the 45th Philippine Business Conference & Expo.
If ninja cops, robbers or illegal drug pushers think they have the “monopoly of evil,” Duterte described this a “stupid paradigm” because he said he can be “more evil.”
“You know kayong mga ninja [cops], kayong mga holdaper, kayong mga drug pusher, akala ninyo kayo lang ang matigas because you think that you have a monopoly of evil in this country. It’s a very stupid paradigm because I can be evil like you and more than if I want to be. Pero [but] if I decided to be a good boy, I am a good boy,” Duterte said.
(All of you ninja cops, all of you holdup men, all of you drug pushers, do you think you are tough because you think that you have a monopoly of evil in this country.)
The Senate’s blue ribbon and justice committees have been probing the ninja cops controversy which linked former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Gen. Oscar Albayalde who stepped down a few weeks before his retirement.
Former Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) and now Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong alleged Albayalde intervened in the case of policemen who supposedly made millions out of seized illegal drugs following a 2013 raid in Pampanga. /jpv
