CITY OF SAN FERNANDO –– Pampanga Gov. Dennis Pineda has put up a cash reward of P300,000 for positive information leading to the capture of a Korean man who escaped from his prison guards in Tarlac City on Wednesday.
Pineda announced the reward after meeting with an official of the Korean Embassy in Clark on Thursday, according to lawyer Charlie Chua, provincial administrator.
Park Wang Yeol has been detained at the Pampanga Provincial Jail (PPJ) since 2016 for three counts of murder in Bacolor town.
The court also committed him to the PPJ for his illegal possession of firearms case, which is undergoing trial in Tarlac City.
PPJ guards brought him to RTC Branch 64 in Tarlac City for his arraignment, which was reset due to the absence of a prosecutor.
A police report said they stopped to eat at a roadside eatery at Barangay San Rafael in Tarlac City about 10 a.m.
The guards ordered food while Park went straight to the comfort room where he fled using the ventilation window.
Park has remained at large since then, although alarms for his capture have been flashed in all police stations in Central Luzon and Metro Manila./lzb
