Korean detainee escapes from jail escorts in Tarlac
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO –– A Korean man detained at the Pampanga Provincial Jail (PPJ) for illegal possession of firearms and murder escaped from his guards after a trial in Tarlac province on Wednesday, police said.
Park Wang Yeol is still being tracked down by authorities.
Park is held at PPJ since 2016 for three counts of murder in Bacolor town.
The case for illegal possession of firearms is lodged at the Regional Trial Court Branch 64 in Tarlac City.
Before heading back to PPJ after his arraignment was reset, Park and his escorts ate at a roadside eatery along Barangay San Rafael, in Tarlac City.
The Korean national went straight to the comfort room without police escorts and escaped through a ventilation window, a police report showed. /lzb
