Seven empty shells were recovered from the crime scene.

Police Captain Jennifer Medalla, the town’s police chief, said they had yet to establish the motive behind the killing.

Lawyer Felicisimo Embalsado, assistant regional director of the Commission on Elections, called on the police to speed up their investigation of the slay.

“We are shocked after learning about Palejaro’s death. We call on the police to conduct their investigation and solve it immediately,” he said.

Embalsado said Palejaro was assigned in MacArthur town early this year.

“She was a good worker who delivered her assignments on time,” he said./lzb
