Feeding project gets boost, to benefit more schools
More elementary schools and communities in the cities of Cebu and Lapu-Lapu will benefit from the supplementary feeding program of the Center for Industrial Technology and Enterprise (CITE).
The Century Pacific Group, a corporate social responsibility arm for Century products, recently forged ties with CITE to support the project.
The weekly feeding program aims to address the needs in nutrition of the schoolchildren as well as to improve their academic performance and school attendance. The program also includes a formative activity for the pupils’ parents.
CITE has already been conducting the feeding activities in partnership with AD Gothong Manufacturing and CITE Multipurpose Cooperative and parents and teachers associations, which prepared the food.
These feeding activities were held in Cabancalan 1 Elementary School (ES), San Jose ES, San Jose Day Care Center, Cabancalan 2 ES, Banilad ES, Talamban ES, Budlaan Integrated School, Canduman ES, Cubacub ES, Pajac ES, Marigondon ES and Babag II ES.
There will be more tie-ups with schools and other communities in the coming school year to meet the one million meals set by the Century Pacific Group.
