LEGAZPI CITY — Two people died Sunday morning in separate shooting and stabbing incidents in Camarines Sur and Sorsogon provinces, a police report said.
Major Maria Luisa Calubaquib, Bicol police spokesperson, said Romeo Laureciano of Del Gallego town in Camarines Sur was fatally stabbed due to an altercation arising from a land dispute in Barangay (village) Tablon at around 2 a.m.
The report said Laureciano, during a drinking binge, pulled out his handgun and shot Jayson Dalma on the chest.
Despite his wound, Dalma was able to draw his knife and stab the victim, killing him instantly. Dalma, on the other hand, survived.
In Sorsogon City, Wilfredo Docog, 38, was shot and killed by a policeman in a shooting incident in Barangay Sulucan, at around 12:45 a.m.
Docog, armed with a handgun, accosted Police Corporal Norman Mark Espaldon.
Espaldon drew his service firearm and fired at Docog.
Docog died while being treated at the Sorsogon Provincial Hospital. /je
