Gadon thanks 2 justices for suspension

MANILA, Philippines — Lawyer and former senatorial candidate Larry Gadon on Tuesday thanked two Supreme Court justices who voted to just suspend him from law practice for three months for using foul or intemperate language.

Gadon thanked Justice Antonio Carpio “for being objective and considerate” in lessening the penalty against him.

Gadon said this was despite his warning that Carpio may be impeached for encroaching on executive prerogatives by speaking about the West Philippine Sea issue.

The lawyer also noted Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa’s “objectivity” in agreeing with the suspension penalty despite Gadon being “very critical” of the “snail-paced process of and the glaring bias and treatment” of the vice-presidential election protest lodged by former Sen. Ferdinand “Bong Bong” Marcos Jr. —Jerome Aning
