MANILA, Philippines— A 4.3-magnitude earthquake jolted Davao Occidental at 6:37 a.m. Tuesday, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
Phivolcs said the temblor centered 19 kilometers (km) northeast of Sarangani, Davao Occidental and struck at a depth of 62 km.
An Instrumental Intensity II was registered in Alabel, Sarangani, and General Santos City.
Meanwhile, Intensity I was felt in Tupi, South Cotabato.
No damage or aftershock is expected from the quake, Phivolcs said.
The Philippines sits on the Pacific “Ring of Fire” where continental plates collide causing frequent seismic and volcanic activity.
