MANILA, Philippines – Police rescued 35 Chinese women on Monday night in a Makati City hotel believed to have been turned into a prostitution den.
The Station Investigation and Detective Management Branch of the Makati City police, led by Maj. Gideon Ines Jr., launched an entrapment and rescue operation in a hotel in Barangay Poblacion at 11 p.m.
The operation was hatched after confidential information was received that the establishment was being used as a prostitution front.
Makati City police chief Col. Rogelio Simon said that the services of the Chinese women are being offered online for P20,000 to P30,000.
“This is a hotel but it a front for prostitution business. As you can see, evidence showed they used sex gadgets, condoms and other sex paraphernalia,” Simon said in Filipino. /gsg
