GENERAL SANTOS CITY, Philippines—Two improvised bombs were recovered Monday morning in Polomolok town, South Cotabato, on Monday morning by the explosive ordnance disposal team of the Philippine National Police.
Director Felicisimo Khu Jr., head of the PNP Directorate for Integrated Police Operations in Western Mindanao, said two teens reported to the police a suspicious bag left near the gates of Polomolok National High School around 8:45 a.m. Monday.
Around 11:00 a.m., ordnance experts from the Polomolok police defused the explosives.
Kuh said the bombs were fashioned from 81 mm mortars with batteries and mobile phones supposedly as detonating device.
He added that the bombs have the same makeup as those recovered from the Office of the Regional Governor of the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao in Cotabato City on December 20 and in Kabacan, North Cotabato, on December 23.
