MANILA, Philippines – The Bureau of Customs (BOC) seized an estimated P54 million worth of illegal drugs from an Indonesian national at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Monday morning.

A Customs officer discovered some 8 kilos of shabu in the luggage of Agnes Alexandra, who arrived from a flight from Siam Reap, Cambodia at 2:30 a.m.

The BOC and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confirmed that the contraband seized from the Indonesian was shabu or crystal meth.

The foreigner was turned over to PDEA authorities.

She will be charged with violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act and the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act. /gsg
