LPA won’t turn into storm; Cagayan Valley, CAR will be rainy
MANILA, Philippines — A low pressure area (LPA) spotted near the Philippines will not intensify into a storm and is expected to dissolve after 24 hours, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday.
“There is a very slim chance that the said low pressure area will become a storm and it is expected that it would be dissolved after 24 hours,” Ana Clauren, Pagasa weather specialist said in Filipino at a 4 p.m. live weather forecast.
Clauren said the LPA was last spotted at 250 kilometers northeast of Baler, Aurora.
She added that there would be light to moderate rains in Cagayan Valley and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) due to the LPA.
For the rest of the country, scattered rain showers will persist this Saturday afternoon and evening, Clauren said.
