MANILA, Philippines — Former Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) chief Bobby Baruelo passed away on Saturday following a cardiac arrest, the BFP said.
In a statement on its official Facebook page, the BFP said they are saddened by the death of the government official.
“We are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our former Chief, BFP, Director Bobby V Baruelo earlier this day, due to cardiac arrest,” read the statement.
The BFP said Baruelo’s wake will be at St. Peter Chapel in Quezon Avenue, Quezon City.
“His remains will lie at St. Peter, Quezon Avenue, Quezon City, before departing to the National Headquarters and finally to Lucena, Quezon,” read the statement.
BFP Calarbazon also expressed sympathy for Baruelo’s passing.
Former Interior Secretary Ismael Sueno appointed Baruelo as BFP chief in 2016. Baruelo served as the BFP chief from 2016 to 2017. /muf
