MANILA, Philippines – A car caught fire while traversing a portion of Edsa northbound in Mandaluyong City on Friday evening.

Danielo Sampoton, a security guard of a mall near the area, told INQUIRER.net that a Toyota Corolla caught fire at around 6 p.m.

Personnel of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) responded to the scene.

Sampoton said mall security guards were quick to bring out a fire hose and spray water to the burning car. It was put out in 15 minutes, Sampoton added.

No one was hurt in the incident and the vehicle was removed from the busy highway./ac
