11 major roads in NCR to undergo repairs this weekend – MMDA

MANILA, Philippines — The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) has warned of likely heavy traffic along certain roads this weekend as the Department of Public Works and Highways undertakes repairs and re-blocking.

Road repair and re-blocking are set to start at 11 p.m. Friday, October 4, and end at 5 a.m. Monday, October 7, according to MMDA.

In a statement, MMDA said the following roads will be affected:

SOUTHBOUND:

1. EDSA – Camp Crame Gate 1 to MRT Annapolis Station, second lane from sidewalk

2. EDSA – Magallanes-Baclaran Bus Stop to Magallanes-Alabang Bus Stop, outer lane

3. EDSA-Roosevelt Avenue to Bulacan Street, third lane from sidewalk

4. G. Araneta – Baloy Street to Landragon St., second lane from sidewalk

EASTBOUND:

5. Quirino Highway, Quezon City – Salvia St. before Belfast Road, inner lane

6. Elliptical Road – After Maharlika Street, seventh lane from outer sidewalk

WESTBOUND:

7. General Luis Street – Samote Street to SB Road

NORTHBOUND:

8. A. Bonifacio Avenue – Marvex Drive to Balingasa, first lane from sidewalk

9. EDSA – After Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, third lane from sidewalk

10. EDSA – From Gate 4 to Gate 3, second lane from center island

11. Katipunan Avenue/C5 Road – After CP Garcia Street (truck lane)

Manhole restoration

Also, utility firm Manila Water said it will conduct manhole restoration along southbound of C-5 Road in Barangay Bagumbayan, Quezon City from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

Manila Water said its activity will affect the second lane of the sidewalk of C-5 Road near JW Plaza Building.

MMDA also advised motorists to take alternate routes as DPWH will undertake pavement restoration at a portion of Pasig Boulevard in Barangay Pineda, Pasig City from 10 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday.

MMDA said the second lane from sidewalk near Petron Gasoline Station will be affected by the pavement restoration. /kga
