NCRPO readies initial preps for Undas 2019 in Metro Manila

MANILA, Philippines—With barely a month before Undas (All Saints’ Day), the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has already started its initial security preparations to ensure its peaceful observance on Nov. 1 in Metro Manila.

NCRPO chief Major Gen. Guillermo Eleazar said that as early as now, they have already met with various stakeholders and asked ground commanders to start coordinating with officials of transport terminals, cemeteries and columbariums, local government officials, and other facilities in preparation for the annual Catholic tradition.

“We have started our initial preparations, meeting with the stakeholders. We have also tapped already our commanders on the ground to coordinate with the different establishments and facilities to be visited by our countrymen during Undas,” Eleazar said partly in Filipino.

Eleazar also said that they are already on the lookout for individuals and groups that may disrupt the peaceful observance of Undas.

Metro Manila’s top cop also said that their heightened security measures will continue until the end of the Yuletide season.  /muf
