First PH marriage encounter seminar marks 50th year
The Marriage Encounter Foundation of the Philippines (MEFP) is marking the 50th year of the first-ever marriage encounter weekend seminar in the country held on Oct. 3-5, 1969 by Fr. Ruben M. Tanseco, S.J. The celebration will start at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Crown Plaza Manila Galleria Hotel in Ortigas, Quezon City. Tanseco founded the MEFP and acted as its national spiritual director. MEFP president couple Robert-Tinette Aventajado said the celebration would be a homecoming for all couples who had undergone the marriage encounter weekend seminar. The initial findings of the MEFP’s 50th anniversary legacy project, a nationwide survey and study on marriage and family life being conducted by the University of Asia and the Pacific, will be presented.
