DID YOU KNOW: Chinese topped list of PH visitors in 2018

According to the January to June 2019 data released by the Department of Tourism, of the top 12 markets (by country) by volume of visitor arrivals to the Philippines, China accounted for the highest growth of tourists compared to 2018.

From January to June this year, 866,561 visitors from China arrived in the Philippines. This was a 34.12-percent growth compared to the 646,089 visitors during the same period last year. Tourists from Singapore recorded only 81,151 visitors this year, a decline compared to the 91,736 visitors last year. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
