MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area (LPA) spotted within the country’s waters is expected to make landfall in Northern or Central Luzon on Friday or Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported.

In its weather bulletin, the state weather bureau said the LPA was spotted 760 kilometers east of Daet in Camarines Norte.

While it is expected to make a landfall, it is not expected to develop into storm.

The country is expected to have cloudy weather, with thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening.

Meanwhile, Pagasa said Severe Tropical Storm “Onyok” (international name Mitag) no longer has an effect in the country.

It is expected to make landfall in the southern part of South Korea on Wednesday night. /je
