NAIA ops back to normal as Pagasa lifts red lightning alert

MANILA, Philippines — Operations at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) are now back to normal on Wednesday afternoon after the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) lifted the red lightning alert. 

The alert was lifted at 3:22 p.m., nearly an hour after it was raised at 2:26 p.m.

The raising of the alert led to the suspension of ground and flight operations at Manila’s main gateway as a safety measure taken to prevent any untoward incident from happening when lightnings are prevalent in the immediate area which may endanger personnel, passengers and even flight operations. /je
