MANILA, Philippines — The alleged founder of “ninja cops” has already retired from police service and even had an affair with the so-called “drug queen” from Manila, the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief bared Tuesday.
Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, however, did not divulge the name of the ninja cops organizer as authorities continue to build up a case against the suspect.
“He is now retired; he is able to retire. He is still a non-officer but a senior police non-commissioned officer. He is in the history of ninja cops,” Eleazar said in an interview on ABS-CBN News Channel’s Headstart.
“I won’t divulge the name first but eventually if we have cases filed against him I will mention the name,” he added.
Asked about how former village chair Guia Gomez Castro got involved in the illegal drug trade with ninja cops, Eleazar said the former police officer had an “intimate relationship” with the drug queen.
“She [Castro] started decades ago and we believe that the founder of ninja cop, nagkaroon sila ng intimate relationship [They had an intimate relationship],” the Metro Manila police chief said.
Eleazar further explained that Castro discovered that drug recycling was a “lucrative business,” inspiring the recruitment of more policemen into the illegal drug scheme.
According to Eleazar, ninja cops or policemen engaged in recycling illegal drugs seized during anti-drug operations started in the early 2000s. /kga
