‘Drug queen’ now in United States — Eleazar

MANILA, Philippines — Alleged “drug queen” Guia Gomez Castro is now in the United States, said National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar on Tuesday.

Eleazar said Castro, former chairwoman of Barangay 484 Zone 48 in Sampaloc, Manila, left the country for Bangkok, Thailand on September 21 then flew to Taiwan then to the United States on September 25.

“From Bangkok, she went to Taiwan and in the afternoon flew to LA at around midnight,” he said over ABS-CBN News Channel.

“She left the country on September 21. That was two or three days during a hearing at the Senate that her name was mentioned. During that time, her name was not mentioned yet. But everybody knows, even she alam niya siya yung tinutukoy kaya nga umiktad siya (she knows she was the one being referred to),” she added.

Eleazar was referring to the September 19 Senate hearing where Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Director General Aaron Aquino revealed a Manila-based drug queen was buying recycled drugs from the so-called “ninja cops.”

He said the NCRPO is now coordinating with foreign counterparts to have the alleged “drug queen” deported back to the Philippines.

“The NCRPO is exhausting all legal efforts to hunt down Castro,” he said.

Eleazar said Castro has warrants of arrest in 2002 for violation of the Republic Act 6425 or the selling, delivery, and distribution of illegal drugs, and in 2003 and 2011 for issuing bouncing checks. The warrants were issued by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court.

An investigation on police officers who allegedly interfered to have the case against Castro dismissed was also ordered by Eleazar.

Eleazar said he had also facilitated the creation of a quad-intel force in Metro Manila composed of the NCRPO, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), National Bureau of Investigation, and the Joint Task Force-NCR of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

“We have joined forces so we can once and for all coordinate on the efforts against illegal drugs here in Metro Manila, identifying and determining some focus targets and going case build up,” he said.

“This is the first target or project that we have, the drug queen,” he added. /muf
