P35 million worth of shabu seized at NAIA

MANILA, Philippines — More than P35 million worth of suspected crystal meth, locally known as shabu, was discovered packed in an unclaimed bag at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in Pasay City on Saturday morning.

The bag was spotted by members of the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group led by Gerald Javier at around 9 a.m, according to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA).

According to PDEA, the bag had a tag with the name of a certain Nazarene Obillo, 26. Obillo arrived in the country on a flight from Hanoi, Vietnam.

The shabu, which weighed 5.16 kilograms, was taken to the PDEA Laboratory Service for examination.
