SAN PEDRO CITY –– Two suspected drug pushers were killed in separate buy-bust operations in Batangas province.
The Calabarzon police, in a report on Saturday, said the incidents happened in Padre Garcia and Nasugbu towns on Friday evening.
In Padre Garcia, a suspect identified only as “Lock” or “Steve” met with undercover policemen around 10 p.m. in Barangay Banaba.
Police said that after handing over a sachet of suspected “shabu” (crystal meth), the suspect suddenly fired his gun but missed to hit the policemen.
Police returned fire and killed the suspect instantly.
In Nasugbu, suspect Joel Galicha was also killed in a shootout around 8 p.m. in Barangay Lumbangan.
Police also claimed that Galicha was first to fire but he was killed when the authorities shot back.
Recovered from Galicha was a sachet of suspected shabu and a .38 caliber gun./lzb
