MANILA, Philippines — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) said it will investigate and file criminal complaints against Guia Gomez Castro, or the so-called “drug queen” of Manila.
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said Castro will be invited for further investigation when she arrives in the Philippines.
“Dahil siya [Castro] ay government official, upon arrival niya, i-invite namin siya for investigation and we will file appropriate administrative charges bilang isang government official,” Año said after the presentation of donated motorbikes in Camp Crame on Thursday.

According to Maj. Gen. Guillermo Eleazar, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) chief, Castro won as chairperson of Barangay 484, Zone 48, in the 2018 barangay elections but failed to take her oath.

Año also appealed to Castro to return to the country and answer allegations that she is allegedly involved in the illegal drug trade.
“Sagutin niya ito ang mga paratang sa kanya at kami rin mag-co-conduct rin kami ng investigation even discreetly kung totoo ito. Kung sino contacts niya. Alam mo naman drugs yan tapusin natin,” he said.
[She needs to answer all these allegations and we will conduct an investigation even discreetly if these accusations are true. We want to know her contacts. This is a drug problem and we need to end it.]
Castro is currently in Bangkok, Thailand after she left the country on Sept. 21, the Bureau of Immigration confirmed on Wednesday. /muf
