BAGUIO CITY — A taser, that was turned over to the police, was apparently used on Cadet Fourth Class Darwin Dormitorio, the police said on Thursday.

A taser is a stun device that sends an electrical discharge to incapacitate people temporarily.

Some of the bruises discovered on Dormitorio’s body may have been inflicted by the device that was surrendered by cadets accused of hurting the plebe, said Police Col. Allan Rae Co, Baguio police director during a news conference.

The taser led to two more third class cadets now classified as suspects, adding to the three cadets ordered expelled by the Philippine Military Academy.

Dormitorio was tasered on the night he was discharged by the PMA Hospital for what was supposedly a urinary tract infection. He died at the hospital where he was returned at dawn on Sept. 18. /lzb
