According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority, 749.72 tons of the 3,810 tons of garbage, water hyacinth and silt removed from Manila Bay’s coastline and drainage system since January came from Manila Baywalk and other tributaries while 901.85 tons came from the Pasig River and San Juan River area.
Around 737.12 tons of garbage and water hyacinth came from the Baseco beach area and lagoon. —Marielle Medina, Inquirer Research
