Nearly P3M worth of pirated DVDs seized in Legazpi City

LEGAZPI CITY — Close to P3 million worth of pirated DVDs and several storage devices were confiscated by the Optical Media Board (OMB) and the police in this city on Tuesday afternoon.

Capt. Dexter Panganiban, spokesperson of the Albay police, said members of OMB and the city police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), raided several video stores selling pirated DVDs in Barangays Bitano and Oro Site at around 2 p.m.

The raiding team confiscated 17 sacks of pirated DVDs amounting to P2.38 million and 650 pieces of storage devices with a market value of P559,000.

The seized items were brought by OMB operatives for proper disposition. /kga
