3 dead when motorcycle rams tree in North Cotabato town
KIDAPAWAN CITY –– Three persons, including a minor, were killed when the motorcycle they were riding rammed a Talisay tree along the national highway in Barangay Singkatulan, Makilala town, North Cotabato on Sunday.
Police Major Amiel Melocotones, Makilala town police chief, said Ruel Tolentino, Jonathan Doceo, a minor, and Garry De Asis, were on their way to their respective homes in Mlang when the Kawasaki Bajaj motorcycle they were riding tried to overtake another motorcycle along the highway.
While doing so, their motorcycle lost control and rammed a Talisay tree.
Melocotones also cited the traffic division’s report that the victims were under the influence of liquor.
“That is why, when you drink do not drive, when you drive, do not drink,” Melocotones reminded motorists.
In nearby Patulangon village, two persons were injured when the motorcycle they were riding collided with a passenger multicab along the national highway on Sunday evening.
