Fire guts P600,000 building in Lanao del Norte town
ILIGAN CITY –– A four-hour fire razed a commercial building and partially burned its adjacent structure in Crossing Poblacion, Tubod, the capital town of Lanao del Norte province Sunday, September 22.
Senior Fire Officer Florencio B. Sambrana, chief investigator of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), estimated the damage at the one-story JBG commercial building and the wall of the photo laboratory next to it at P600,000.
Sambrana said the fire broke out at the JBG Building at 7:50 p.m.
He said firefighters immediately went to work as soon as they got the fire call at 8 p.m. But the building was burned down when the firefighters declared the fire under control at 9:50 p.m.
It took firefighters still another two hours to fully contain the fire.
He said no one was hurt by the fire.
Sambrana said investigators were still trying to ascertain the cause of the fire. Richel Umel/lzb
