Comelec approves Duterte Youth new substitute nominees

MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has approved Duterte Youth’s new substitute nominees.

In a Comelec minute resolution obtained by INQUIRER.net on Monday, it states that based on the en banc meeting of the Commission that transpired last August 28, the Comelec recognized the substitution bid of Ronald Cardema’s wife and four others to be the nominees of Duterte Youth.

With this, it has approved the withdrawal of the previous nominees of Duterte Youth.

“The Commission after due deliberation, resolved, as it hereby resolves as follows:

“To approve the withdrawal of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th nominees of the Duterte Youth Party-list, as acceptance of the withdrawal is merely ministerial and same having been executed in due form,” it said.

“To recognize the following as the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th new nominees of the said party-list, as practically the list of nominees is exhausted in view of the withdrawal of the above nominees,” it added.

The names of the nominees who earlier withdraw their nomination were: Gian Carlo Galang, Catherine Santos, Kerwin Pagaran, and Sharah Makabali.

They will be substituted by Ducielle Marie Cardema, Guillermo Villareal, Krizza Reyes, and Robert Garcia. /je
