6,000 Sorsogon public teachers take half-day off for Family Week

LEGAZPI CITY –– Over 6,000 public school teachers in Sorsogon province on Monday afternoon were allowed to take a half-day off from their teaching chores in observance to the National Family Week Celebration as announced by the Civil Service Commission (CSC).

Loida Nidea, Department of Education (DepEd) Sorsogon Schools Division Superintendent, issued a bulletin advising all DepEd personnel that they are allowed to leave their workplace at 2 p.m. to spend mealtime with their families.

Nidea said regular work would resume on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Legazpi City Mayor Noel Rosal issued a similar advisory suspending classes in all levels and local government personnel in this city to observe the family week celebration.

The CSC national office has issued a circular observing the 27th National Family Week Celebration from September 23-28 this year./lzb
