MANILA, Philippines—President Rodrigo Duterte on Sunday graced the baptism of Sara Velasco, daughter of Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco.

Duterte graced the occasion at the Shangri-La Hotel in Makati City and delivered a short message.
In one of Velasco’s Instagram posts, Duterte was listed as “mentor” of the child along with business tycoon San Miguel Corp. CEO Ramon Ang.
Senators Christopher “Bong” Go, Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa, Manny Pacquiao, Sonny Angara and Sherwin Gatchalian were among the godparents of Sara.
Presidential son and Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte was also listed as a godparent.
Velasco is in a term-sharing agreement with Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano for the House Speakership in the 18th Congress.
He actively campaigned for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio’s Hugpong ng Pagbabago Senate slate during the May 2019 elections. /gsg
